Carol-anne Moulton graduated from The University of Melbourne, Melbourne Australia in 1992 and completed general surgical training earning certification from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2001. She undertook several Fellowships following this: a Fellowship in Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery at St. Vincents Hospital in Melbourne, a Fellowship in Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) Surgery at Toronto General Hospital, and a Medical Education Fellowship at the University of Toronto, earning a Master's of Higher Education in 2006 and a PhD in Education in 2010. She was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2010. She is co-director of the HPB Fellowship Program at University of Toronto. Early 2010, Dr. Moulton became a Scientist at the University of Toronto Donald R. Wilson Centre for Research in Education. Her research interests include the psycho-sociological considerations of surgical judgment and surgeon error.
